About the Chaplain

Hi, I’m Steve Cowles. I have been a volunteer chaplain with Lancashire’s Constabulary since 2007. I am 51 and the youngest of 9 kids. I grew up hunting in the Arizona desert (southwest USA) and loved catching rattlesnakes.

My wife, Debbie, and I have been married 29 years and have 3 children, ages 20,24-26.   We have lived in Texas, Germany, and Guatemala, Central America, where I did construction work for an international Christian charity.  We have been in the UK since 1993 and became British citizens in November, 2012.  I enjoy deer stalking, hiking, camping, and bushcraft. I love the outdoors and enjoy teaching people about it. In addition to being a chaplain, I speak in schools, churches, youth clubs, & organise dads-n-lads events.
