Who is the Chaplain?
Hi, I’m Steve Cowles. I have been a volunteer chaplain with Lancashire’s Constabulary since 2007.
I am 50 and the youngest of 9 kids. I grew up hunting in the Arizona desert (southwest USA) and loved catching rattlesnakes.
What’s the reason most officers call?
I am often asked this by the senior management team (SMT) for the police. It’s relationship breakdowns. One of the biggest side affects of police officers’ work is what it does to their relationships and home life.
My wife and I enjoyed doing the “Safeguarding Relationships” evening in March of 2014. We want to pass on some online resources that you can look at in your own time. I want to prepare and encourage more officers to protect and strengthen their relationships, whether you are single, married, or living together. I want to help us all do battle against this silent killer.
